Vineyards and Grape Varieties

The Quinta has 15 hectares of geometrically aligned vineyard, where the plots are organized by grape varieties and the differences in soil and exposure give rise to ecological niches conducive to the production of excellent grapes.
The main varieties are Alvarinho, Loureiro and Trajadura. These varieties are planted in different locations in order to achieve a good adaptation to soil and exposure conditions. The simple cord driving system, with resounding vegetation, reduces the vigor of vines and protects curls from excessive exposure to the sun.

Cultivation of the vineyard

The soil of the vineyards is not mobilized to allow the recycling of the nutrients left by the decomposition of leaves, pruning wood and spontaneous vegetation and increase the stability of soil organic matter.

The standards of integrated protection against pests and diseases apply, using biological control whenever possible, reducing the application of phytochemicals and improving ecosystem balance.

Vintage

The harvest is manual, taken care of in the selection of bunches and portioned the plot, so that the grapes are harvested at the optimum point of maturation. Then the grapes are transported in small canisters to the cellar and quickly processed.

The grapes of the various varieties and plots are vinified separately producing a high diversity of elemental wines. These can be bottled separately as the maximum expression of a particular “terroir”, as they can be crowded to produce wines of a more constant nature, respecting the personality of the wines of the farm.
